We all have times in our lives when we know something is wrong, even if we don’t know what it is. You might feel off-balance, low energy, not yourself. Often you feel like you want to talk about what’s happening with someone, even if you aren't yet clear about it. You want to be able to talk with someone who won’t judge you, who won’t second guess your experiences, or try to explain them away, or try to rewrite your story for you.

You want to be able to talk with someone who will listen without an agenda. Someone who can provide understanding and compassion, patience and authenticity.

Relational therapy is that conversation. If you have that need to talk, I am here to listen.

I am a firm believer in the power of conversation, of both listening and of being heard. I am committed to working with you to create space with you where you can feel seen, and heard, and understood. A space free of judgment. The work we do will be focused on you and your story. I will listen and offer my observations, but I’m not here to tell you what to think, or how to feel. I’m here to listen to what you think and how you feel, to be with you in those moments, no matter how hard or complicated they might be.

I am currently in the process of completing my training at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP), a training program recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). As part of my training, I see clients under faculty supervision and am working towards becoming a registered psychotherapist with the CRPO. I am a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapists (CAPT) and abide by the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of both CAPT and CRPO.

about Me

My work as a relational therapist is informed by the core principles with which I live my life. I am a staunch supporter of LGBTQIA rights, have organized educational events for the alt-sex community, and teach workshops on the complexity and importance of positive consent practices and clear communication. I have a deep and abiding interest in social justice awareness, particularly as it applies to my own privilege and advantages. I will approach any work with you with these principles held strongly in mind.

A 50-minute session is $100, tax included. Payment can be by cash, cheque or e-transfer paid in advance of the session. We can talk and figure out what works best for you. As finding the right therapist to work with is important, I offer a 50 minute consultation session at a price of $40, tax included, to perspective new clients, to see if we would be a good fit.

In addition, as part of my goal to make therapy services more accessible, I reserve a limited number of spots at a sliding scale/reduced rate. Please be in touch if cost is a barrier to accessing therapy and I may be able to offer a reduced fee.

Recognizing that things don't always go as planned, at some point you may have to cancel a session with me. I require 24 hours notice to cancel without charge. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will require full payment. The best way to let me know of the need to cancel an appointment is by text, at my mobile number below.
